A Gifted Man moved to 9pm, and even though it had more viewers than 20/20 it had a lower rating/share, so it lost out. The fate of this show depends on how pilot season turns out for CBS. It could also come back mid-season next year, but it will need a major overhaul.
Fringe held steady over last week, which is good, but Fringe’s hold steady is still pretty bad.
20/20 had a Whitney special, what is there left to say. Is Whitney any different then Judy, Marilyn, Elvis, Heath, Michael or DJ AM, they all died from prescription drug overdose. Not hard drugs, not street drugs, but legal regulated drugs born of a billion dollar industry. That coupled with the cult of celebrity, of people who indulge the meal ticket who don’t try to save them.
After his death Priscilla turned Elvis, his image his home into multi-billion dollar industry. Have you noticed how much more of Michael Jackson’s image and music is available more then ever before. Look at how they are positioning Paris to step into Daddy’s shoes. Sure we laughed when Michael made them go out in public with masks on, at least he was trying to protect them.
The are rushing Whitney’s final film, Sparkle to release earlier then planned. I expect the single to be released any day now, and remastered re-releases to full up iTunes. All in the name of providing for Bobby Kristina, but who will see to her emotional health, her spiritual guidance. She has already had a run in with drugs. I am sure Clive Davis has already cut her demo.
